Fastex Successfully Wrapped up its Participation at Consensus 2025
Fastex participated at Consensus 2025 in Toronto, joining the global stage with a strong vision for the future of Web3.
At the center of Fastex’s presence was its preferred blockchain Bahamut, Layer 1 blockchain designed for scalability, security, and decentralization. Built on a unique Proof of Staked Activity (PoSA) mechanism, Bahamut rewards validators not just for staking - but for actual usage of their smart contracts. The more their contracts are used, the higher their chance to be selected as block proposers and earn network rewards. It’s a fairer, more dynamic system built to support next-gen Web3 applications.
Fastex also highlighted several new additions to its growing ecosystem. The enhanced YoWallet now includes real-time activity alerts, price change notifications, and built-in NFT management. Backed by a reinforced infrastructure and proprietary APIs, the wallet delivers faster performance, greater reliability, and seamless integration with DeFi protocols, allowing users to stake and use crypto directly within the app.
Speaking with CoinDesk Live, Vardan Khachatryan, CLO and Board Member at Fastex, spoke about the wallet’s mission to empower users:
“As a centralized exchange, we keep the clients’ assets, but sometimes clients prefer to have their private keys with them. We want to help them have this opportunity - but also provide it in such a way that they don’t leave the infrastructure, the ecosystem. This gives them the power to control their assets, but at the same time, stay with us.”
Other standout products presented included YoHealth, an app promoting healthy lifestyles through blockchain-powered rewards, along with YoPhone, YoSIM, and YoBlog, each expanding the Fastex digital ecosystem in unique ways.
As part of the broader Consensus experience, Bahamut served as an official hackathon partner for the EasyA Consensus Hackathon, which took place during the main event. With over 1,000 participants, the hackathon featured three dedicated Bahamut tracks, AI x Onchain, Cross-Chain Innovation, and a Bonus Bounty, with a total prize pool of $50,000 - split evenly between $25,000 and $25,000 in FTN tokens. Pavel Aramyan of Fastex and the Bahamut Foundation delivered a keynote speech to inspire the next wave of builders.
On May 14, Vardan Khachatryan, CLO and Board Member at Fastex, took the stage at the Open Money Summit during Consensus 2025 for the panel “Are Your Funds SAFU?” Held on the MTCC: Summit Stage and moderated by Aoyon Ashraf, Head of Americas at CoinDesk, the panel brought together top voices in the industry. Alongside Khachatryan were Adam Lowe, Chief Product & Innovation Officer at Arculus by CompoSecure, and Blair Wiley, Chief Legal Officer at Wealthsimple. Together, they explored key topics around digital asset custody, user protection, and the evolving role of centralized platforms in Web3.
Throughout the week at Consensus 2025, Fastex connected with global leaders, regulators, developers, and enthusiasts and strengthened its presence as a serious force in the Web3 space.
